Walter Harrison (Full Name: Walter Henry Harrison), Southern California After-School Worker, Accused of Inappropriate Contact With Students at Youth Education Support Nonprofit Think Together at Sunnymeadows Elementary School

MORENO VALLEY, CALIFORNIA (November 7, 2025) – A 27-year-old non-profit employee at Think Together identified as Walter Harrison was arrested for allegedly having inappropriate contact with students.
Riverside County officials are saying that an investigation began at the end of October. A campus resource officer was informed that Walter Harrison was engaged in “inappropriate contact with students.”
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department conducted an investigation. They are alleging that the defendant talked with at least four students who were part of the after-school program.
A search warrant was obtained to search the suspect’s residence. Walter Harrison was subsequently arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
A full investigation into all of the misconduct involving Think Together and Sunnymeadows Elementary School remains ongoing.
Liability for Riverside County Sexual Abuse
Schools and nonprofits have a legal obligation to protect students from reasonably foreseeable sources of harm. This includes protecting them from sexual abuse and other misconduct involving workers. Consider, for example, C.A. v. William S. Hart Union High School Dist., 53 Cal.4th 861, 870 (2012), “Ample case authority establishes that school personnel owe students under their supervision a protective duty of ordinary care, for breach of which the school district may be held vicariously liable.” There are many ways that a school or nonprofit may have failed to protect students from abuse.
- Prior Complaints: An institution may fail to investigate prior instances of misconduct against a worker.
- Supervision: An institution may fail to properly supervise students in their care.
- Background Checks: An institution may fail to put a worker through a rigorous professional and criminal background check.
If a school or nonprofit has actual or constructive notice that a certain individual poses a risk of harm to students, they must take action. When a school fails to take action, this could form the basis of a negligence claim. Teachers are mandated reporters. They have a legal obligation to report reasonably suspected instances of misconduct. But in far too many situations, teachers and school officials won’t report misconduct and allow perpetrators to continue entirely unchallenged.
Steps to Take After Riverside County School Sexual Abuse
Sexual abuse in a school setting remains alarmingly common. According to one study in Sage Journals, “Educator sexual misconduct is a serious problem in the United States (U.S.), with a 2004 Department of Education report estimating that 9.6% of K-12 students in the U.S. had experienced either verbal, visual, or physical educator misconduct at some point during their school career.” There are several actions that should be taken after any instance of school sexual abuse.
- Safety: The immediate safety of any victim should be the first priority. They should be removed from the institution where they are at risk.
- Report: The abuse should be reported to the police so that they can begin an official investigation.
- Medical Evaluation: The victims should undergo a thorough medical evaluation. This can also help preserve key evidence.
- Legal Review: The parents of any child abused by a school worker should seek the guidance of an experienced sexual abuse attorney.
Sexual abuse is one of the most destructive and harmful experiences that most children will ever go through. It is common for victims to suffer long-term psychological trauma. To make matters worse, schools will almost never accept responsibility when a child is harmed in their care. This is why it is so important for victims to carefully consider their legal options with an experienced school sexual abuse attorney.
