SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA (July 27, 2026) – A woman at a Santa Monica assisted living facility has tragically died after being assaulted inside her apartment along Pico Boulevard.
Santa Monica officials are saying that the incident occurred around 5:21 PM on Sunday. Officers received a call to the area about a woman who was in need of medical assistance.
They arrived at an apartment and found a woman who was suffering from serious injuries. Despite life-saving measures by first responders, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is believed to have occurred in some type of assisted living facility for people who are developmentally disabled or being treated for mental illness. Officers did not mention the name of the site.
However, the location mentioned by officers is near a facility identified as The Manor along Pico Boulevard.
