$19.99 Million Settlement in Lawsuit for Child Sexual Abuse at LAUSD School

Does v. LAUSD (Oxnard Street Elementary) – 14 Victims of Lino Cabrera filed their lawsuit against the LAUSD for negligence after being sexually abused at Oxnard Street Elementary School in North Hollywood, CA. Lino Cabrera was hired in 2010 and was a teacher’s assistant and the school’s computer tech.  He used his position of trust at the school to molest multiple children on campus over the course of several years. Lino Cabrera was convicted in 2020 for multiple counts of child sexual abuse and was sentenced to 8 years in state prison.  The Carrillo Law Firm represented 7 of the 14 victims while Anthony Demarco represented the other 7 victims in the case against the LAUSD.

A full settlement for $19.99 million was reached on the eve of trial for all 14 victims against the LAUSD.
