LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA (July 12, 2023) – A 29-year-old teacher identified as Martin Reyes Jr was arrested on child sex abuse charges in Los Angeles County.
The LAPD is saying that the arrest took place after they executed a search warrant. Martin Reyes Jr was arrested on suspicion of committing lewd acts with a child under 14.
A representative for the LAPD declined to name the school that the defendant worked for. He is currently being held on a $1 million bail.

The Court of Appeal held, “Ineffective supervision of a student, as well as the failure to use reasonable measures to protect a student from foreseeable injury from a third party, may constitute a lack of ordinary care on the part of those responsible for student supervision.” There are a number of steps that should be taken after any instance of child sexual abuse.
