SAN FERNANDO, CALIFORNIA (September 1, 2026) – San Fernando police shot and killed a man at a property near the intersection of Third Street and Maclay Avenue.
Los Angeles County officials are saying that the incident took place around 11:45 PM on Monday. Police officers were called to the scene and encountered a man who was allegedly holding a shovel in his hands.
At some point during the encounter, officers opened fire and shot him. Paramedics were called to the scene of the incident to help the person.
Unfortunately, he was later pronounced deceased due to the severity of his injuries. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain under investigation.
