Caroline K. Nam

Caroline Nam is an associate attorney at Carrillo Law Firm, LLP, where she brings a broad range of litigation experience from business law, contract disputes, international law, and employment law. Caroline earned her Juris Doctorate from Chapman Law School, where she actively contributed to the legal community. Caroline served as the Executive Articles Submissions and Online Editor for the Chapman Law Review, was an active member of Chapman’s Moot Court Competition Board, and placed as the regional finalist in the 2021 Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition where she addressed constitutional issues related to Equal Protection and partisan gerrymandering. Caroline’s most rewarding experiences in law school include mentoring other fellow first-generation law students and serving as the judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Aimé Muyoboke Karimunda of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Rwanda. In this role, she provided policy recommendations to the judiciary on implementing judicial safeguards for minor victims who testify in open court in front of the accused and researched international laws on sex trafficking and corruption. Caroline also served as a research assistant to Chapman’s Executive Vice President and Parker S. Kennedy Professor of Law, Matthew Parlow, on his legal scholarship, “Racial Protest and Racial Progress in Professional Sports,” published in the Southern California Review of Law and Social Justice, Vol. 31:2. In recognition of this work, as well as her overall motivation, tenacity, and academic achievement during law school, Caroline received the Joann Leatherby Leadership Award for Women in the Law upon graduation. She was also the recipient of the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Torts II, which is awarded to the student with the highest grade in the class. Before obtaining her Juris Doctorate, Caroline pursued a career in the sports industry working primarily for the Los Angeles Rams, where she was able to attend two Super Bowls with the team, prior to her decision to pursue a lifelong goal of becoming an attorney. Caroline currently focuses on civil rights, child sexual abuse, and wrongful death cases.
