Xena Rochelle Mashburn is an associate of the Carrillo Law Firm, where she primarily focuses in the areas of childhood sexual abuse, molestation, and harassment and civil rights violations.
Ms. Mashburn received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of San Francisco and her J.D from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. As an enthusiastic college student, Ms. Mashburn gained valuable work experience through her internships at the San Francisco Mayor’s Office and the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office. During her undergrad, she was involved in various philanthropic projects through her memberships with the Delta Zeta Sorority and Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, which include mentoring children from low-income families, fundraisers for AIDS and breast cancer research, and for Gallaudet College for the hearing-impaired.
Xena’s work experience throughout the course of her law school career include an externship at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Appellate Division, a law clerk position at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Preliminary Division and Habeas Corpus Litigation Division, and a law clerk position for Michigan’s Circuit Court Judge, the Honorable Rosemarie E. Aquilina. Ms. Mashburn was involved in her law school’s community as a school ambassador and as a vice president and then president of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA), where she organized and lead APALSA in food drives for Asian refugees and in volunteer projects at homeless and domestic violence shelters. Xena was also a participant and a quarterfinalist for her law school’s moot court competition.
